Description

Feather Falls' Carex features stunning arching fountains of variegated cream and green leaves on a tough, low-maintenance evergreen grass. It adds drama to containers, borders, pathway edges, or as a groundcover under trees in dappled light. Deer avoid it, and it is more drought and sun-tolerant than other carex varieties, allowing it to thrive beautifully in all partial sun conditions across your landscape.

Plant Care

Water

Water regularly; allow soil to dry down between watering

Fertilizer

In early spring, just as new growth begins to emerge, use a balanced, slow-release granular fertilizer like 10-10-10. Do not fertilize after mid-summer as it encourages tender new growth that will be killed by the first winter frost.

Pruning

Remove brown or dead blades as needed. May cut back top growth in late winter / early spring depending on winter damage.
