Description

Jackson Valentine Fire Pink pairs exquisite beauty with a tough, worry-free nature. In late spring, it erupts with brilliant, velvety scarlet-red, star-shaped flowers that act as hummingbird magnets. Despite its delicate, high-impact look, it is incredibly low-maintenance. Sticky stems naturally deter pests, deer avoid it, and it doesn't require pruning or fertilizer.

Pruning

Pruning isn't necessary. However, in Spring, clear dead leaves before new growth emerges and in Summer, cut spent stems to tidy and stop seeding.

Seasons of Interest

A tight rosette of dark green basal leaves forms. From mid-spring to early summer, it enters its maximum glory, erupting with masses of brilliant, velvety scarlet-red flowers that last for about six weeks.

As the flowers fade by mid-summer, the lance-shaped green foliage remains tidy and compact. The sticky stems continue to work as a natural pest barrier throughout the warm months. Fall &

The flower stems die back, but the low-growing green basal rosette often stays semi-green or intact through the cold months, protecting the plant's crown until the next spring.
