Veronica x 'Balvermislu' PPAF
Perennial
Height 16-20"
Spread 19-23"
Meet Misty Blues: a stunning display of soft violet-blue flower spikes rising beautifully over a lush green mound. This easy-care perennial delivers spectacular color and elegant texture to your garden with minimal effort. It resists deer & rabbits, tolerates heat, and blooms from spring to summer. Just plant in a sunny spot and enjoy!
Water
Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water regularly immediately after planting to keep the soil consistently moist until the root system establishes. As the plant matures, feel the top inch of soil; if it is still damp, delay watering until it feels slightly dry.
Fertilizer
Veronica Baby Blues is a light-to-moderate feeder and does not require heavy or frequent fertilization. Apply a thin layer of organic compost or a light dusting of a balanced, slow-release granular fertilizer around the base of the plant once a year in early spring as new growth emerges.
Pruning
The plant benefits significantly from seasonal pruning and routine deadheading. Additionally, trim away the old, dead material in early spring right before the fresh green shoots start pushing through the soil.
Spring
Fresh, bright green shoots push through the soil to form a low, compact mound, building up energy and leafy mass to prepare for the upcoming flower explosion.
Summer
The plant erupts with a high count of vibrant, sky-blue flower spikes that stand prominently above its dark green foliage. It continually pushes out new flowers during this time, especially if deadheaded.
Fall
With regular deadheading, Baby Blues will often stretch its bloom window into the early part of autumn. As the flowers fade, the dense, mounded green foliage maintains a clean, tidy cushion shape in the garden bed
