Description

Ruby Snow' offers dramatic color in a compact size, prized for a bicolor "snow cone" effect. Flowers emerge crisp white in mid-summer and shift to a rich ruby-red with white tips as nights cool. Significantly smaller than older varieties, it fits small gardens, foundations, or containers. Sturdy stems prevent drooping after rain. Very cold hardy, it blooms reliably on new wood every year regardless of pruning errors.

Plant Care

Water

Moist, well-drained soil

Fertilizer

Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer, like 10-10-10 as soon as new green growth begins to emerge. You can apply a second, lighter round of fertilizer in late June or early July. This mid-season boost helps sustain the long blooming cycle as flowers transition from white to pink.Stop all fertilization by late July or early August, as it can stimulate tender new growth that can be damaged by first frost.

Pruning

Strong prune early spring every year for more blooms and fuller plants
