Description

Scout' is a low-maintenance, non-invasive ornamental grass that stays right where you plant it. It features slender green blades with a white midrib and a graceful, arching form. Late summer brings pink-to-beige plumes that shift to copper-red in fall and silver in winter. Once established, it resists drought, pests, and deer. Thanks to its impressive height, it is ideal for privacy screens or large containers.

Plant Care

Water

Keep soil on drier side. Drought tolerant once established

Fertilizer

Late winter or early spring, just before new growth starts. Use minimal, balanced, slow release, granular fertlizer like 10-10-10

Pruning

Only requires a single hard pruning in late winter or early spring before new growth appears.

Seasons of Interest

Features slender green blades with a distinct, shimmering white midrib that catches the light.

Plumes emerge in attractive shades of fluffy pink to beige, providing dynamic texture and movement. The foliage itself turns beautiful hues of yellow and orange in the fall.

The dried foliage and plumes hold their shape well, offering structure and color during the dormant season. Plus, the plumes are long-lasting and make an excellent addition to fresh or dried floral arrangements.
